The Latest A Word, among other things….

The latest radio show is available here, and this week photographer Barb Reimer talks about her recent foray to Nicarauga and the body of work that she’s producing based on her innovative, somewhat non traditional photographic work that incorporates ideas of ecology, consumption and site.
A few other things to consider, this first of September: an exhibiton that is currently up at the Saskatchewan Craft Council, titled Compelled, by Anna Hergert, is more of her wonderful textile works that depict and convey aspects of the landscape across Canada. I have said it before, but it needs repeating: there are some excellent exhibitions that are mounted at the SCC. It needs to be added to your list of galleries to check out on a regular basis, if not on it already.
And wonder of wonders, there is a FACULTY SHOW up on the University of Saskatchewan campus, in the old Kenderdine Gallery space, in the Agriculture building, on the campus proper. There hasn’t been one of these in all my time here, and this is part of the larger SHIFTS series of exhibitions, which included the past Lineage show, and will also have a few shows coming up in the fall.
