JANGLE[D] – a two person exhibition presenting a variety of sculptural and two dimensional artworks by Susan Low-Beer & Yael Brotman – has been on view at RAIN (Rodman Art Institute of Niagara in downtown St. Catharines) for the majority of the summer of 2025. I offer some thoughts on the artworks and exhibition.
Sandy Fairbairn’s exhibition of images of St. Catharines was the third exhibition of six I curated for the Mahtay Café in downtown St. Catharines. It was on display from mid December 2022 to the end of January 2023.
I visited the now shuttered Rodman Hall Art Centre site recently, and this brought to mind an old article, about a past exhibition, that played with hauntings and ghosts.
In 2021, I was contacted by the University of Saskatchewan: they are in the process of purging artworks from their collection. This is a brief opinion on the lack of due diligence and ethics that seem to be tainting this, and too many, institutions.
