Part 1. What About Rodman Hall? The Exhibition at NAC

An exhibition at NAC presenting different responses to the statement from Brock University regarding its plans to “divest” itself of Rodman Hall Art Centre. I talk about the pieces, their ideas and aspects of community, and this was the beginning of the long series “What About Rodman Hall?” that is available in its entirety online here.

BABELTECH™ and the power of language at NAC

I offer some thoughts on Eric Schmaltz’ BABELTECH INDUSTRIES™ presents…THE ASSEMBLY LINE OF BABEL and on the reading / performance given by Kai Kellough that same evening at Niagara Artists Centre. Language is a virus.

Excelsior! 1975 – 2015 / Dave Gordon @ NAC

Dave Gordon’s exhibition Excelsior! at Niagara Artists Centre was very funny but also had an edge to it, especially in terms of citing both artistic, and poltical, history in the region. I offer some thoughts on the show. One of the first exhibitions I reviewed here in Niagara.

Emily Andrews at NAC

Emily Andrews’ work in the Denis Tourbon Members Gallery at Niagara Artists Centre requires attention and consideration: but that doesn’t bely the playful nature of it, and that several of the works made me smile, if not laugh out loud.
