As my writer’s residency in Welland continues due to COVID, I respond to several comments regarding workers and their well being, grounded within lessons learned (or forgotten) about labour, focused upon the Rose City’s history.
Sandy Fairbairn has been taking photographs of Niagara for over forty years, focusing on the people and places around him. His images of Niagara stretch back to the 1970s, and some of the scenes presented in Welland: Time Present Time Past will be shown in the Rose City for the very first time. I curated this exhibition, and offer some ideas that informed it, and that grew out of it.
AIH Studios is very pleased to present Sandy Fairbairn’s exhibition Welland: Times Present Times Past from February 15th to March 15th 2020. Curated by Bart Gazzola, the opening reception for Welland: Times Present Times Past will be on Saturday, February 15th from 2 to 5 PM.
