LOGIC LOST IN TRANSLATION | Victoria Wallace is on display for the month of June 2025 at Mahtay Café & Lounge in Downtown St. Catharines. This is the 30th exhibition I’ve facilitated in the space, platforming Niagara visual artists.
Victoria’s artwork blurs the line between reality and the dream world, conjuring surreal landscapes that beckon the viewer to step into their mystique. With a foundation rooted in traditional techniques of figure and landscape art, her practice steps beyond the edge of the ordinary, inviting the viewer to surrender to the enchantment. Through intricate layers of symbolism and visual narrative, Victoria’s paintings awaken the depths of the subconscious, drawing the viewer into a world of palpable wonder. In this realm, the familiar and the unknown coexist, and the viewer is free to unravel the mysteries that lie within.
Victoria Wallace is a multidisciplinary artist and art educator with a career spanning over four decades. Her artistic practice explores the intersection of reality and the subconscious, incorporating acrylic, encaustic, and mixed media. Wallace’s work has been exhibited in various galleries and festivals throughout Ontario, online, and across Canada and the US.
